But in China they persist dark practical that should disclose, the violations to the human rights are object of frequent accusations, but the rights of the animals are also violently harmed in this country.

This is what won't be seen in the covering of the olympic games, and that the authorities neither allow that it is seen:  the terrible abuse of the animals in the Chinese industry of the skin, the sale of dog meat and cat like exotic food, the farms of bear bile and of tiger for use of the Chinese traditional medicine, among other abominations inflingidas to the animals.

In China any law of animal protection doesn't exist, for what the exploitation of the animals is at the mercy of the demand for its products, or of the accommodating excuses that the authorities invent to justify its death. Among others:

Elimination of the rage In the summer of 2006 the death of 16 people for a bud of rage motivated that the authorities sanitary Chinese ordered a slaughter of more than 54.000 dogs in the district of Mouding, in the county of Yunnan (Southwest), where they inhabited 500 thousand dogs approximately. During 5 días that the slaughter lasted, the dogs that were walked were snatched to their owners and then dead to blows, alive electric or buried discharges. Other 98.000 dogs were murdered in Longxin, 90.000 in Nanjing and 67.000 in Ji Ning.

In other cases, employees of the Government entered to the populations loudly in order to make to bark to the dogs and to locate them to eliminate them.

To the owners of the animals you them offered había the equivalent one to 63 cents of dollar for animal so that they killed them themselves, before they were correspondents the Government's teams to make it.

The brutal campaign was difficultly criticized by the press, while the World Organization of the Health of the United Nations said that emphasis should be made in the prevention of the rage, but the organizations defenders of the animals only spoke against this terrible one to proceed criticizing the extermination like the vía to control the rage.

Slaughter of cats and dogs for the market of the skins and the meat Most of the farms of skins in China are born in the last ten years. The animals skinned are not only dogs and cats, but also foxes, minks, raccoons and rabbits.

Among 25-30% of the skin taken place in China he/she comes from wild animals, and 70-75% of animals servants in captivity.

An investigation of the Animal Swiss Protection (SAP) that lasted 18 months in China he/she revealed that dogs, cats and other animals were raised in farms - the mayoría to the north of China where the climate is more frío, what favors the fineness and quality of the hair. In the mayoría of the occasions, the dogs and murdered cats don't come from hatchery and well they can be animal stolen or lost. Also, it was reported that some families Chinese crían some cats and dogs during the winter, and in spring they kill the animals to take their hides to the market. Many towns have markets outdoors that they serve as encounter points where the hides of dogs and cats are sold that are murdered in the corresponding town.

In the farms, the investigators found alive dogs in a room without heating living the full rigor of the winter, surrounded of the bodies without life of other dogs that hung of hooks. Some of these dogs were dedicated to be sold and eaten in Harbin, and their skin to be sold in the trade of the skins. The dogs were "packed" in sacks and transported in a vehículo until the slaughterhouse during several hours of itinerary. Already in Harbin, the investigators could see dogs maintained in the most absolute darkness and exposed to the intense frío of February without water neither eaten. The dogs were subject of the paws for fine wires. The butcher kills from 10 to 12 dogs to the día, although a great number of dogs doesn't finish its itinerary in China, since some restaurants (the Korean mayoría) they want fresh" "meat and many of the dogs are taken to other destinations.

In a prosperous market of skins, to 300 miles to the north of Jinan, in the county of Jibei, the farms of cats are. These can be murdered by ahorcamiento or they are hung of a cable while he/she spills water for their throats by means of a hose, until they drown. Then he/she cracks the stomach of the cat, the skin he/she opens up and he/she stretches out on the head of the cat. Those that take charge of carrying out this procedure say that the cats are usually alive todavía while the skin is pulled up them. The important thing is that the skin of the cat comes out, as much as possible, of a single piece.

The dog skins and cat are dedicated to the making of clothes, accessories or decorations:  we can find them in peluche puppets that feign to be cats or dogs sleeping placidly, in the details of garments of clothes (necks, sleeves, edges of coats, scarfs, shoes, etc.) or in skin accessories (handbags, wallets, belts). The supplying companies of these products are also resided in China, where they have grown and they have multiplied in the last years.

The globalization of the trade of skins has made impossible to know from where the skin products come. The skins move through an international market of houses of auctions where they are bought and distributed to who manufacture them, and once made, they are exported and sold in the entire world. China is the supplier of half of the pieces of skins that are sold in United States and although the labels say that they are coming from Europe, it is probable that the animals have been raised and killed in one of these Chinese farms where there is not regulation some.

Farms of bear bile The bears have been pursued and deads to extract their vesículas biliares for more than 1000 years, but it is only in the last 20 years that some países of Asia (China, Korea and Vietnam) they have beginning to adopt the system of farms biliares, supported by the governments of these países. The bears are the only mamíferos that produce big quantities of sour biliar (sour ursodesoxicólico) that comes being used in the Chinese traditional medicine for more than 3.000 years because supposedly cure from the sexual impotence until the cancer or the hepatic illnesses. Of the 8 species of bears that exist, all except the giant panda have seen their reduced copies because of the trade of the bile.

In the farms, the bears are generally confined in small lengthened cages, where they should remain recumbent and without possibility of modifying their posture. To extract the bile, they are practiced a "homemade" cirugía without anesthesia to implant them a catheter - iron tube - in their abdomen;  or a permanent perforation in their abdomen, acquaintance as "technique of free" leak. Many bears die for the infections caused by the cirugía that doesn't prevent any hygienic measure, and those that survive pass the rest of their lives suffering in pain and privaciones.Esta situation, prolonged per weeks, months and even years, it causes them terrible sufferings físicos and psychological.

The bear Black Asian has been the more affected by this cruel trade. He/she is known popularly like "bear moon" for a stain característica of clear color in the chest that likens a moon in growing room. This copy is protected for the you MENTION (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species) as an a copy in state crítico.

Farms of tigers The use of tiger bones has gone back for 1.500 years behind in China. It is used in the traditional medicine to eliminate the humidity and to disperse the cold energy of the body, according to the Chinese medical theory. Those that propose the use of tiger bones say that he/she has properties inflammatory anti, it alleviates the pain in the rheumatisms, articulations and muscles, it relaxes and it strengthens the tendons and he/she has beneficial effects in the sanguine circulation and the hepatic and renal functions.

Although China and other countries consumers of tiger bone have prohibited the trade of tigers, and although it removed their use of the Official Pharmacopeia of the traditional Chinese medicine (in 1993), the demand for tiger bones continues towering, and for it, they raise tigers in farms.

These farms possess near 5.000 tigers in captivity. Every year, he/she is considered that 1.000 puppies are born in these commercial farms that are attractive tourist and they claim to be part of programs of re-introduction of tigers to the nature. However, evidence exists otherwise, because the farm only exploits tigers for its commercial benefit, and so much it is worth them the alive tiger as the dead tiger. In February of 2007, people of the British TV ITN visited the farm Xiongsen Bear and Tiger Mountain Farm in Guilin, China, and they offered them meat in the restaurant of the farm that after an analysis of DNA, it turned out to be tiger meat, although the farm denied this fact.

The Chinese authorities invited "specialists" to visit the farms of tigers in 2006, and they maintained conversations with the Indian government to lift the prohibition of not using parts of captive tiger of China. The Chinese government sustains that allowing the use of tiger bones and other parts of the animal that have in stock, will allow to satisfy the demand of the market and it will protect the tigers that live in freedom.

But anything but far from the reality:  if the use of tiger parts is allowed, it will mean the end of the species.

What can you make to stop this?  From February of the 2007, AnimaNaturalis unites from all over the world to the organizations for the defense of the animals to denounce openly that in China a law of animal protection doesn't exist. Now that the Games begin Olympicos, we want to take advantage to raise the voice of the animals again.

To select The whole Honorable Hu Jintao

President of the Republic of China

Dear Mr. President Hu:

More than one year ago, we write him to demand him to put an end to the cruelties that are made routinely against the animals in China. We ask him to open their eyes and their heart to prohibit the most scandalous practices in the Chinese trade of skins, the slaughter of animals for buds of rage, the farms of bear bile and the farms of tigers, or the consumption of dog meat and cat. However, their government has not approved up to now neither a single law that protects the animals in his country.

More than one year ago also we promised the boycott to their country, their products and their face tourism to the celebration of the Olympic Games in August of this year, and now we make it again.

In West, we are hundred of organizations for the animal rights who we are mobilizing us so that this information arrives to the biggest quantity in possible public. Also, we are making him arrive this information to our politicians, sportsmen and delegates that will attend the JJ.OO.

Mahatma Ghandi said once. the greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way in that it is to their animals.. Under this point of view, the true weakness, insignificance, and vulnerability of China become evident. We urge him to that recognizes the damage made to the international reputation of their country. The success of China in the world economy depends precariously on the ignorance of the consumers and the voluntary blindness of other nations. Nevertheless, the violence made against the animals in its country has won the attention of consumers and world leaders you tune. The world won't tolerate more the merciless cruelty of China against the animals, and that will make it know now while the JJ.OO takes place and until you don't take letters in the matter in its country.

Sincerely,
