people NEED to know these things,it is a wake-up call for the
uninformed who have a compassionate heart and the potential to
change and maybe do great things for the animals.I so hope you

I
too am sooooooo frustrated with this guest book! Thank you
for letting me know that you had problems signing it. You
are not the first to alert me to this problem. I have
seriously considered removing the guestbook and just leaving
an email for folks to comment on my site if they so desire.
Considering all the problems I'm having with this particular
guest book, and your helpful input, I really think removing
the guest book is the best option. What are your thoughts?
Do you enjoy signing the guestbooks of sites you visit, or
would you just as soon drop a line directly via email if you
have a comment? Your input will help me decided the best
course of action.
Thanks for letting me know about the problem with this

Hi, Your website is incredible, I can see why you may not
be willing at this time to add more to your plate. The
beginning of your website is absolutely beautiful. I
clicked on 30,000 chemicals as I was interested in this
subject since I recently gave a talk on "eco-friendly_
cleaning products all of which do not test on animals. I am
aware of what is taking place in the 30,000 chemicals
article. But, unfortunately, most people think that a
product can only be declared safe when it is tested on
animals. Do you have any information on tests that do not
include poor animals? I also had a newspaper article
promoting Seventh Generation, Planet and Ecover.
Unless we can come up with alternative testing, I fear the
majority of people will feel overjoyed that these products
are being tested. Sad state of affairs.
If you ever wish to add global warming articles, please let
me know and I would be happy to help.
Thanks for all you do for the animals.

Hi "dancing Jack"! I am reading your book Animals:Why They
Must Not Be Brutalized. It is very good, informative and very
scholarly. And I already told you how much I love your
website.Just one question-how do you deal with the pain of what
our world is? I have a very hard time with this. Advice needed
and appreciated. Thankyou.
12-09-2007
Hello Jack,
I just wanted to tell you how much I love your website. It is the
most comprehensive one I have ever found. I have recommended it
to some of my fellow animal rights friends. I admire you so very
much for your dedication to animals and the wonderfully
intelligent insights you provide on your site! Keep up the good
work and bless you!
Sincerely, Pat Neskavich
Dear Pat Neskavich,
Your warm uninhibited note is a wonderful way to start
the day
for this crusader. I must return the complement
by noting that
your words bespeak those of a great gal.

Hello,
I hope you are doing well. I have always kept your site book-marked so
that I may easily visit it from time to time. I believe I have told
you
before, in so many words, that I admire what you are doing. As I
look over
your site again, I feel the need to say it once more. I learn a lot
from
each visit, and each time--it causes me to think about the things
that I
do. I am making more of a personal effort to stop eating meat, and
perhaps
my efforts will help my friends and family to try and do the same.
Thank
you for your sensitivity towards such an important matter.
Blessings,
T.S. Wilkins
P.S.-- I believe I already have two messages in your, "Your Write"
section. Would you please consider not posting this one?

T. S. Wilkins,
Your very frank note exemplified
the value of an informative site about
mans very cruel, and deadly behavior in the human
non human sphere.
The pragmatic decision to not comply with your
request was based on
the question-what is in the interest of
animals? Your obvious concern,
and inspiring words I believe, are the answer to
that query, and must
override your request.

Hi JB, I don't understand
people, how they can be so cruel to the little animals that
the good Lord gave us to care for. They are so innocent and
so trusting of us and this is what they get. What if the
tables were turned and people were put in the cages and
abused by the animals. What a good thing that would be, see
how they like it. They would say " we have rights" we demand
our freedom" People act like animals are nothing, no
feelings and no rights at all. Just some thing to use and
abuse. Thank you for caring, Joan

Hi,
This
is in answer to the following question you asked
in my guestbook:
" I have a question for you.
I live in a world that seeks justice for the Animal
Kingdom, and there can be no shirking the facts about
ongoing terrorism for which we are collectively guilty.
Are you cognizant of our corporate and collective
terrorizing of animals in a profusionof barbaric ways,
and the resultant pain, suffering, and violent death
of billions of animals every year because of our terrorism?
My question is about an ongoing legal holocaust to
which the majority of people are habituated, do you
think that such permanent terrorism is morally
acceptable?"
As
far as the rights of the animal kingdom go, I stand
specifically at this point:
I am against haunting animals for sport. It is
disgusting to kill an animal just to cut off its head
and hang it on the wall as a display. It is completely
terrible to haunt an animal for the thrill, and it is
nonsense to put an animal in a so called sport where
it would fight to the death. I do not support killing
animals for their fur to complete the process of the
lastest fashion statement, or just killing an animal
in general for whatever riches they possess. I do not
support the unnecessary destruction of the forest to
make room for some unnecessary man-made development
that would further pollute the earth. However, I must
be honest with you. I do believe in survival, so I am
not a vegetarian. I believe the body does need meat,
and I believe survival is different than all out
cruelty--which is certainly morally unacceptable.
I
hope this answers your question. Please feel free to
contact me anytime.
God bless,
~T.S. Wilkins~
I must take issue with your thoughtful civilized answer.
You wrote "I believe the body does need meat," a belief
refuted by the health and lngevity of millions of vegetarians,
and vegans, If my doctor is not wrong, and my feeling of
well being is a criterion, you are mistaken.I have not
consumed meat* for more than two decades, dance and
jog vigorously three times a week. Such facts sustain
a refutation of your belief that the body needs meat.
I must also write that mistake notwithstanding, it would
probably be a much more livable world with a few billion
more like you.

Hello Jack...you left a very thought provoking message in my
guestbook, and you asked for an answer. Firstly, your
calling to save the planet's animals from torture, is beyond
commendable, to be in this type of frontline must be an
agony for your mind.
For my miniscule part, I do not eat anything that had eyes
to see, do not use anything that has been tested on any
creature. I support IFAW charity, financially, but could
not do what you do, could not witness these hideious acts,
day after day, (although IFAW do send the most distressing
pictures of hopelessness) without dying of a broken heart.
Put that down to being old now. Ongoing cruelty takes its
toll on the human nervous system, i am often ashamed to
be part of the human race. God, if you believe in Him,
gave us dominion over all creatures, have mercy on them,
what has humanity become?
I do not believe in any form of cruelty...i thank God for
people like you.
May He help you and give you strength to continue, Son.
Rosalind
Rosalind,
Because there are very many
people like you I am not ashamed to be a member of the human race.
And I believe for the same reason that we will one day experience an
end to the brutalities of animals that are now a commonplace. Such
belief make it possible to live in the world of misery, pain, and
violent death while striving for change. That I will
never experience the change is not important. This is a message from
a man that does not believe that a God cares, or will help, but that
only man can undo the injustice wrought by man. Jack

Jack,
with all due respect, I did visit your site, and again, I appreciate
your compassion for the well being of animals, but you haven't provided
legitimate proof that we as humans have launched an all out war on
animals.
Even if you believe in the theory of evolution you must
even look at the neanderthal men, and women, and see how they lived, and
survived. They hunted, ate off the fat of the land... Meat is a great
source of protein, and it's good for our bodies to consume meat. It's
good for us as humans to hunt, least we have the problem of over
population among the animals that it is deemed legal to hunt. Karla
Hello Karla,
Your statement is a non sequitur meaning that it
doesn’t follow from your alleged visits to my Web site if you saw only a
fraction of 450 pages and perceived the legitimate proof of what you
saw and read. Legitimate proof consists of evidence that compels
acceptance by a rational mind of a truth or a fact. To cite but one
example; the world wide number of animals killed for food in 2001 was
almost 48 billion according to the Food and Agricultural
Organization. This included 301 million cattle, buffalo, and
calves, 12 billion pigs, 788 million sheep and goats, and
45.6 billion…These animals were not anesthetized before their throats
were cut or shot or bludgeoned , and if they were were anesthetized , we
are still in the presence of wholesale slaughter of fellow beings. My example would probably not be perceived as
telling evidence of our war on animals by the average
omnivore which is understandable, because we first make our habits, and
they then make us.
If a careful perusal of the facts on
my site doesn’t convince one of the horror and injustice perceived I am
not surprised or discouraged, because it is such indifference to the
misery, pain and death of others that contributes
to the ongoing hell suffered by animals, and people.
This vegetarian
perceives karla as one of the many a misguided primitives that is
opposed to a world without violence to animals, an attitude that may be
reflected in the murder in our schools and cites. An attitude that is a
negative factor in mans struggle for a kinder less violent livable
world.

I'm
sorry, but I have yet to see the proof that "we" habitually,
collectively and intentionally commit terrorism toward animals. True
enough there are some sick individuals that harm animals, but people as
a whole appreciate, and generally love them. I'm sorry this is weighing
so much on your mind to the point that you may be reading so much more
into this issue. With that said, I do appreciate those that really
dedicate their lives to the well treatment to animals. God bless you!
THE FOLLOWING IS A TRUNCATED ACCOUNT THAT
COULD NOT
OCCUR WITHOUT OUR COLLECTIVE
TACIT
APPROVAL.
9.8 billion animals broadly defined were killed for food
in America in 2001 according to USDA's national agricultural
statistics. And,
885.5 million animals suffered lingering deaths
from disease, malnutrition, injury, or suffocation
associated with factory farming.
The world wide number of animals killed for food in 2001 was
almost 48 billion according to the Food and Agricultural
Organization. This included
301 million cattle, buffalo, and calves, 1.2 billion
pigs, 788 million sheep and goats, and 45.6 billion
Many millions of animals are
killed in American laboratories each year. While it is true
that the most commonly used animals are mice and rats, millions
of animals from other species including guinea pigs, rabbits,
ferrets, cats, dogs, monkeys, and chimpanzees are widely used in
research labs. These animals can be subjected to a myriad of
painful procedures. They are burned, starved, irradiated,
shocked, mutilated, kept in isolation, poisoned, drugged,
electrocuted, and he list goes o
135
million animals killed annually, and crippling, wounding
and orphaning millions more, is what the American "sportsman" is
talking about when he speaks about the "fair chase".
Great apes -- gorillas, chimpanzees, and bonobos -- are being
hunted to extinction for commercial bushmeat in the equatorial
forests of west and central Africa. A ragged farflung army of
2,000 bushmeat hunters supported by the timber industry
infrastructure will illegally shoot and butcher over 3,000
gorillas and 4,000
chimpanzees this year. That's five times the number of gorillas
on Rwanda's Mt. Visoke and 20 times more chimpanzees than live
near Tanzania's Gombe Stream. People pay a premium to eat more
great apes each year than are now kept in all the zoos and
laboratories of the world.
Japan and Norway are killing
over 1000 whales between them each year in defiance of a
global ban on commercial whaling that is not enforced. Japan
also kills tens of thousands of dolphins each year. Smaller
whales like these receive no international protection at all and
face extermination. Norway plans to hunt dolphins too
Marine
Mammal Science concluded that in 1998 the actual number of harp
seals killed was somewhere between 406,258 and 548,903.
As
reported by Animal people, June 2001, of the many of tens
of thousands of seals brutally killed annually: " Five
veterinarians affirmed the fact "that sealers hook, drag, and
skin alive up to 42% of the seal pups they kill
Poisoning of
stray - and owned - dogs and cats is widespread throughout
Greece
and it occurs on a daily basis. Those responsible for
spreading around poisoned bait are rarely caught in the act and
usually the bodies of their victims are picked up by garbage
collectors in the early hours of the morning. The poisoning is
often excused as a necessary and cheap cleaning up operation of
the large numbers of stray dogs and cats which are seen as a
problem. Some people fear the strays would ‘spread disease’,
others consider them a nuisance, especially when their numbers
increase
Australia
The largest massacre of wild land animals the world has ever
known is taking place in Australia right now. Imagine this. A
mother kangaroo with her beautiful joey at night in the vast
outback. It’s a scene millions of years old. What’s new is the
roar of a four-wheel drive. She turns towards the noise and is
transfixed by a searchlight. A rifle cracks and a bullet tears a
hole in her neck. She falls, in pain and unable to save her joey,
who retreats into her pouch for safety. The first thing the
hunter does is to search the pouch and, feeling a joey inside,
pulls him out. The hunter tosses him to the ground and stamps on
his head. The joey writhes in agony. The mother struggles as her
leg is slit open and a hook inserted through it. She is hauled
up on to the truck and slowly dies. The scene is repeated all
night long. Older joeys frantically hop away when their mother’s
are shot - to die a slow and lonely death from cold or
starvation. This is the reality of kangaroo killing. But the
killing continues. Every store, restaurant and cafe that sells
kangaroo meat or skin supports this massacre. And they are all
fed a string of excuses by the Australian government. Not one of
them stands up to scrutiny.
YOU HAVE
JUST SEEN ONE LITTLE ROOM
OF OUR PLANETARY SLAUGHTERHOUSE.
JACK B. SUCONIK
People have been hunting for meat, raising cattle... to eat since the
begining of time. If you'll read the story of Cain and Abel, God was not
so pleased with Cain's gift to Him, but Abel's give was pleasing to God.
Abel's offered up an animal to consume, and Cain offered up fruits, and
vegitables. That tells me that it's good for us as God's children to eat
meat. We're suppossed to do so.
I must answer
knowing that my words will not serve to penetrate a closed mind that
probably must remain closed to sustain its erroneous source. I doubt
that you will study my Website as you have studied a bible that demands
that you “do not suffer a witch to live.” Two principles that existed
before your Bible were self preservation and pity. You exhibit the
former but not the latter, which is prevented by the source of the
former –your Bible. The principles create “a balance whereby one being
does not threaten another being unless his own life is endangered.” I
choose to live by these principles, and not by those of religious
dogma.. Jack

Miss G
My understanding of terrorism is
apparently different from yours. I understand terror to be a
psychological state of fear and anxiety produced by violent acts which
seem out of control of the individual toward whom the acts are directed.
I have observed this kind of terror among children who were abused by a
parent who came home drunk and beat the child and also in woman who were
battered by a partner without provocation.
Jack
Suconik
TERRORISM ENTAILS THE USE OF TERRORIZING
METHODS.
SUCH METHODS MAY NOT RESULT IN THE SAME
DEGREE OF
MENTAL AND PHYSICAL PAIN IN ALL SENTIENT
CREATURES,
WHICH DOES NOT JUSTIFY ITS USE AGAINST
ANY SENTIENT
CREATURE.
Miss
G
In my understanding
of the term terror, two conditions need to met--there needs to be
violence of some sort and the abuser must inflict the violence in a way
that causes constant fear in the victim.
Jack Suconik
AN EXPIRED
TERRORIZED VICTIM CAN NOT EXHIBIT CONSTANT FEAR.
Miss
G
Although we catch shrimp, kill them and
cook them, it is hard for me to imagine the shrimp living in constant
fear of being caught.
Jack Suconik
I MUST AGREE, BUT A SHRIMPS INABILITY TO
EXHIBIT FEAR FOR ITS LIFE IN NO WAY MEANS THAT IT IS NOT PROGRAMED TO
PREVAIL IF POSSIBLE. THAT THE SHRIMP DOES NOT LIVE IN CONSTANT FEAR OF
BEING CAUGHT DOES NOT MILITATE AGAINST THE FACT THAT WITOUT THE USE OF
TERRORIZING METHODS IT WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN CAUGHT COOKED AND CONSUMED.
Miss
G
This might be different for higher level
mammels under specific circumstances. I’m thinking of monkeys in labs
where there are ongoing, painful experiments going on, as an example.

**People
speak out and say the animals are treated humane in the slaughter
houses, No, No, No!! They are not!
I lived on a farm
for so many years and lovingly raised all of the animals starting at
the naïve age of 17, as I stated before hand fed so many when
abandoned by the mothers and the sickly ones, with no clue of many
of the animals fate. I have to admit the cows, pigs and goats were
all named “all pets”. There is nothing more beautiful than looking
into the big brown eyes of a cow whilst feeling some sort of
connection, and crazy as it sounds the endearing feeling when your
whole face being licked with one swoop when they show affection,
animals can sense kindness, feel fear and pain.
I learnd the
horrific truth at nearly 18 years old when we rounded up some of my
beautiful pets with no clue as to where we were going. Penned up in
a hauler were a few of my cows and pigs. I can remember like
yesterday even though it was almost 28 years to the day the ride,
and how the animals were restless. Still not a clue as to where we
were headed. We had sold several before and delivered them to the
buyer, looking back I guess that was what was in my head. “Little
Did I Know”
When
we pulled onto the property, not even 10 feet inside the gate the
animals were fighting with everything they had to try and escape the
hauler. We were still so far away from the building I couldn’t see
it or hear anything, but the animals could sense it, “the fear” and
I feel sure with all my heart they could sense the death of all
before.
When we made our
way to the front of the building “still not hearing anything from
inside” My animals were in panic, jumping on one another, vocalizing
noises I had never heard, I remember such a heart sick feeling come
over me when I realized where we were and was froze in my seat. I
looked back in the side mirror to see my pets, one of my pet cows in
particular staring back at me in the reflection making vocal sounds
like cries, and her eyes looked as though they were filled with
fear.
The Butcher’s son
came out with a cattle prod and repeatedly jolted the animals to get
them off the hauler “The sounds were horrific” coming from the
animals. I immediately was sick to my stomach, and begged them to
leave the animals alone, but my words fell of deaf ears and ignored.
The
butcher came out to try and comfort me and told me they wouldn’t
feel a thing; then proceeded to tell me how they do it to ease my
mind. Well it didn’t!He told me that the pigs would be shot once in
the head “quick and painless” were his words. But his son chimed in
and said well sometimes we don’t get a clean shot and then we slit
their throat while hanging and he just laughed. The same is done to
the calves, we don’t shoot them we just hang them up and slit their
throat to drain.
Before we left I
heard the first gun shot and the other animals making such heart
sickening noises, they knew they were next!!
As long as I live I
will never forget that day, and the impact it had on me that changed
my life. I didn’t stop until my Father removed all of the animals
from the farm, I couldn’t deal with the brutality and guilt of
raising animals for slaughter.
The
only animals that I know of that I would consider dumb are the 2
legged ones “We are” for thinking they can not feel fear or pain,
and lack of compassion for their suffering. God’s beautiful four
legged creatures are not, they are trusting, loving creatures. Just
as that old saying “As easy as leading lambs to slaughter”…
“Trusting!!
I just wish that
the next time someone goes into a grocery store and picks up that
neatly packaged “meat” for their dinner that they can visualize the
beautiful creature that was slaughtered. But sadly many prefer
denial and ignorance instead of intolerance.

Dearest Jack,
I am at this very
moment working on a collage of animals and going to try to
incorporate as many as I can in a banner. Again you are more than
welcome to use the graphic, I will send it to you for approval
before I display it.
I have been back
to your site, I had to step away after 30 minutes of reading, crying
and trying to take all of this in, I am just totally heartsick!!
I’m one of those
people that take in strays… play mom to the abandoned, just to name
a few kittens, puppies, piglets, calves the list goes on that I have
hand bottle fed, and at this very minute I have little baby sparrows
in a nest under my carport on a shelf at door level that I’m keeping
my eye on making sure momma doesn’t abandon them.
I am so glad that
you added “my write” but I have to admit I was so disheartened when
I read Ginny’s e-mail to you that you posted “Journey of Love” and
speaking out for all of us. I applaud you for the reply to her
e-mail. In no way do I feel as she does, I never looked at your post
in my g-book as advertisement “heart awakening” is more appropriate.
For this reason and
many more… please add my website name, address, my name and or
email, something to let others know how I feel, and what I have
witnessed 1st hand.
Many blessings to
you for all that you |
